Captain Marvel actress Annette Bening opens up for the first time about his transgender son Stephen Ira. Bening, in a recent interview with AARP, admits that she’s extremely ‘Proud’ of his son’s transition.
Annette Bening hasn’t talked about his son Stephen Ira’s transition since a very long time. But, the 61-year-old actress has finally shared her views in an interview with AARP. Annette was with her husband Warren Beatty and admits that she’s extremely proud of her son’s decision of gender transition. Captain Marvel actress also stressed on the fact that not a lot of people dare to do this even when it is the only thing they want.
Bening also talked about Stephen’s journey that started when he was 14-year-old only. As she revealed, “He's managed something that's very challenging with great style and great intelligence. He's an articulate, thoughtful person, and I'm very, very proud of him.” After this, Bening also spoke about parenting and how she learned the fact that no parents in this world can save their children from the suffering that they deserve. As she added, “When I was younger, part of me thought I could save my children from having to suffer, which was, of course, ridiculous. They have to go through their struggles.”
