Cameron Diaz REVEALS rare insights into her marriage to Benji Madden; Confesses she doesn't 'miss performing'
Cameron Diaz has been away from the spotlight for a long time. The actress recently made the headlines for her rare interview about her wedding and her life away from the spotlight.
Cameron Diaz is clearly loving her happily ever after. The Charlize Angels star has opened up about being married to Benji Madden in a rare interview. Having stayed away from the limelight post her wedding, this is probably one of the rarest occasions when she is giving the world an insight into her marriage. The 46-year-old has been married to the American guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer for over four years now. And the actress recently deemed her husband "the best."
Talking to In Style magazine, The Mask actress confessed she wasn't sure if she was ready. However, she felt that Benji was "special." Sharing an insight into her thoughts and her marriage to the musician, she said, "I don’t know if I was ready (when I got married), but I knew Benji was special. He’s just a good man. There’s no bullsh*t. It’s really refreshing. I’m really grateful for him. I like doing my own thing."
She added, "My husband’s the best. He’s the greatest human being, and he’s my great partner,” she shared. “Marriage is certainly hard, and it’s a lot of work. You need somebody who’s willing to do the work with you because there’s no 60-40 in marriage. It’s 50-50, period. All the time." She might have not faced the camera in a long, long time but Diaz admitted does not miss being in the spotlight. “I started [experiencing fame] when I was 22, so 25 years ago — that’s a long time. The way I look at it is that I’ve given more than half of my life to the public. I feel it’s OK for me to take time for myself now to reorganize and choose how I want to come [back] into the world. If I decide to. I don’t miss performing," she explained.
"It’s fun to just not have anybody know what I’m up to. Because my time is all mine. I’m not selling any films, and because I’m not selling anything, I don’t have to give anybody anything. I’m not doing this anymore. I’m living my life," Diaz added.
