Brad Pitt says Harvey Weinstein scandal rattled Hollywood as much as Manson Family murders
Brad Pitt compared the infamous Manson Family Murders, which took place in 1969, to the Harvey Weinstein scandal, in terms of how they rattled and changed the course of Hollywood. Read below to know more about what Brad had to say on the same.
It was in October 2017 when a New York Times cover story featured high-profile women in Hollywood speaking out against Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein. Harvey was accused of sexual misconduct and rape by multiple women. Back in 1969, around August 8-9, the infamous Manson Family murders took place. Sharon Tate and her three friends, along with an 18-year-old visitor were murdered by four members of the Manson family in cold blood at Sharon's husband and director Roman Polanski's rented home.
Comparing both these incidents in terms of the way it rattled and changed the course of Hollywood in a big way is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star, Brad Pitt. "It all sort of crashed, and ended so much that some talk of it as a conspiracy. It was the total end of an era — immediately," Brad's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio had explained about the Manson Family murders while talking to The Sunday Times. When Brad was asked if anything had rattled Hollywood to a similar extent, Pitt shared, "Harvey Weinstein."

When further quizzed if that comparison was because of the perceived loss of innocence, Brad added, "Is that bad taste? It’s more that I think we’re getting recalibrated. But [this time] in a good way."
Two of Brad's famous exes, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie had spoken against Harvey. As per the New York Times article, Gwyneth had accused Harvey of sexual harassment during a work meeting. The actress revealed that Brad had threated to kill Weinstein if he made Paltrow feel uncomfortable again.
