Bond 25: James Bond movie villain Rami Malek had one CONDITION before accepting Daniel Craig starrer 007 movie
The new James Bond movie aka Bond 25 sees Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek play the villain. The actor recently revealed that he had placed one clause before he got on board of the 007 movie.
The much-talked-about James Bond movie, unofficially called Bond 25, is finally in the making. The 007 movie sees Daniel Craig step out as the Bond for one last time before he places his weapons on the table and walks away. Craig will be meeting his last villain portrayed by Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek. Provided the huge opportunity to star opposite Craig and that too as a baddie in a Bond movie is not something that knocks on your door every day. However, the actor did not jump on the bandwagon the moment director Cary Fukunaga came to him with the offer.
In a new interview with Daily Mirror, Rami revealed he had placed a condition on the table before he could sign on the dotted line. The actor, who belongs to the Egyptian heritage, reveals that he asked the filmmaker for an assurance that the villain he wouldn't play a religious fundamentalist or would be an Arabic-speaking terrorist.
The 38-year-old told the UK daily, “I said, ‘We cannot identify him with any act of terrorism reflecting an ideology or a religion. That’s not something I would entertain, so if that is why I am your choice then you can count me out’. But that was clearly not his vision. So he’s a very different kind of terrorist. It’s another extremely clever script from the people who have figured out exactly what people want in those movies. But I feel a substantial weight on my shoulders. I mean, Bond is something that we all grow up with."
The Academy Award winner also teased his role in the movie and said, "It’s a great character and I’m very excited," he said. Bond 25 recently resumed filming with Daniel Craig after the actor injured himself in Jamaica while filming the movie. Bond 25 is slated to release in spring 2020.
