Bill Hader compares his IT: Chapter 2 co star Finn Wolfhard to King Joffrey from Game of Thrones; Here's Why

IT: Chapter 2 has finally released and is receiving positive reactions from the fans and critics alike. Taking place 27 years after IT: Chapter 1 (2017), the Losers Club is all grown up. Starring James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone and Andy Bean as the adult losers, IT: Chapter 2 is directed by Andy Muschietti and also marks the return of Bill Skarsgård as the terrifying clown, Pennywise. Hader, in paticular, plays Richie Tozier, which was earlier played by Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard.

Judging by their equation during the promotional tour for IT: Chapter 2, Bill and Finn got quite close and interestingly, it was Wolfhard who recommended Hader's name to play the adult Richie, during several interviews. Bill recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote IT: Chapter 2 and spoke about how he found it sweet that Finn took his name to play the adult Richie. The Barry star shared, "When they asked them, 'Who do you want to play you in the sequel?' cause they all grow up, he said he wanted me to. My agent sent me a little clip of him saying that and I was like, 'Oh, that's nice."

Three months later, Hader gets the call to meet IT director Andy Muschietti for IT: Chapter 2. Comparing Wolfhard to King Joffrey from Game of Thrones, Bill added, "Three months later, they were like, 'Hey, you got a meeting with the director of IT and I was like, 'This Finn kid's super powerful.' He's like Joffrey. Like, 'Bring him to me. Bring me the man who played Stefon! I want him to play me in the movie. Bring him in her' A little scepter. 'Get him in here now, Barry, whatever his name is.'"
