In Homecoming, Beyoncé revealed the health condition she suffered during her second pregnancy.
Beyoncé shared that she had an ‘extremely difficult pregnancy’ and thus, her kids' Sir and Rumi were at risk. Beyoncé developed a condition called pre-eclampsia while giving birth to her twins which spiked her BP level and caused the heartbeat of one of her kids to shut down in her womb. To save her babies and Beyoncé, the doctors performed an emergency C-section. The Crazy in Love singer revealed this in her documentary about her return to stage which she calls home.
Beyoncé said, “I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth. I had an extremely difficult pregnancy, high blood pressure. I developed toxaemia, pre-eclampsia, and in the room, one of the baby's heartbeats paused a few times so I had to get an emergency C-section.” Beyoncé also revealed that she was supposed to do Coachella a year prior, but due to the pregnancy, she had to give up on the show for a year.
Luckily, post the delivery, Beyoncé and her twins were hail and hearty. Beyoncé went onto prepare for the biggest show of her life and her twins, Rumi and Sir cheered for their mama along with their big sister Blue Ivy and daddy Jay Z.
