After writing the award-winning screenplay for Good Will Hunting, stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are joining forces and coming together on the big screen yet again for Ridley Scott's latest movie, The Last Duel, reported Deadline. The actors are teaming up and bringing their writing talent to the table as they are all set to co-write the 14th century drama. While Good Will Hunting was a heartwarming tale of a math genius, The Last Duel will be completely different from their first outing.
The Deadline report reveals that Scott's film is a revenge story between two best friends — the knight Jean de Carrouges (played by Ben) and the squire Jacques Le Gris (played by Matt) — and it's based on Eric Jager's novel. The film's plot revolves around the two characters, who were once friends. That is, until Jean accuses Jacques of raping his wife, the report added.
Full of intrigue and drama, a source told the publication, "One goes to war and returns to accuse Le Gris of raping his wife Margerite de Carrouges. No one will believe the woman, and the soldier appeals to the king of France to undo a decision handed down by Count Pierre d'Anencon, which favored Le Gris." The news of Matt and Ben joining forces naturally has their fans excited and details of the film's plot has excited many.
According to E!News, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will also be appearing on the big screen later this year in Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob project.
I know this is a day late, but Matt isn't on Instagram so thought I'd help him out. #OldHeadshotDay
