The Batman: Peter Sarsgaard joins Robert Pattinson starrer; Is he playing Harvey Dent?

Matt Reeves is setting an army of actors to make sure The Batman is an unforgettable affair. Earlier this summer, Warner Bros announced that they are revisiting the DC superhero's life with Robert Pattinson headling it. Over the past few months, The Batman has been seeing an impressive star cast joining the superhero movie. From Zoe Kravitz to Andy Serkis, some brilliant actors have been roped in. This week, Reeves added another face to The Batman. The filmmaker took to Twitter to share a gif featuring Sarsgaard accompanied by a bat emoji. 

Although the confirmation, the director has been tight-lipped about Sarsgaard's role in the movie. Soon after the news broke out, fans began speculating the possible character Sarsgaard could essay in the DC-themed movie. Given Reeves' choice of gif - which features two faces - fans are speculating that the actor could essay the role of Harvey Dent.

For the unversed, Harvey Dent is a district attorney in the comics who doubles up into the villain Two-Face. Given this reference, fans took to Twitter to point out what an evil genius Reeves is. "whoa Peter Sarsgaard is the new Harvey?!?! I like it!" a fan reacted. "Hmmm two people... coincidence? I think not, Two-Face?" added another fan. There are theories suggesting that the actor could be playing the Mad Hatter.

Meanwhile, The Batman cast includes Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin and John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred.
