The Bachelor Finale: Matt James' dramatic season ended with him presenting the final rose to THIS Contestant
The Bachelor's 25th season came to a close as Matt James chose his partner between Michelle Young and Rachael Kirkconnell.
The 25th season of The Bachelor seems to have been one of the most dramatic ones and it remained so till its very last moment. Featuring the reality show's first-ever Black star, the 25th season recently came to a close and we bet you are wondering who Matt James finally picked and presented the rose to.
Making it to the finale to win over Matt's heart were Rachael Kirkconnell and Michelle Young. There remained a specific interest among fans as to who will Matt pick among the two ladies, especially ever since Kirkconnell's racism controversy came to the fore. While Michelle, on the other hand, was deemed to be the fan favourite in the final episode of the dramatic season, Matt seemed unsure to commit to Young.
For the finale, Matt was joined by his mother Patty James and brother, John James. Before the 'bachelor' was to make his final decision, Rachel and Michelle were given time to spend with Matt's family. During their interactions, we saw Matt's mother Patty get emotional whilst talking to both the ladies. James' mother at one point also praised Young and touted her to be a potential daughter-in-law.
Although, in one of the most defining moments of the finale, Matt received an important advise from his mother that seemed to change the course of the show. During their interaction, Patty James told her son that people fall in and out of love and that it is not the end-all-be-all.
Following this, Matt continued to weigh his feelings and on his final date with Michelle, bid her a tearful goodbye revealing to her that he did not match her feelings. After rejecting Michelle, Matt's feelings still seemed conflicted and while hesitantly he did get ready to propose to Rachael, in the final moment, he professed that he wasn't ready to propose but didn't want to lose her. While the finale ended with Matt giving the final rose to Rachel, the duo ditched the classic tradition of a proposal that is synonymous with the show.
