Avengers: Endgame star Chris Evans retiring from acting? Captain America actor's future plans revealed

A lot of journeys came to an end with Avengers: Endgame. This included Captain America star Chris Evans. After the actor took to Twitter to announce that he's hanging up the shield late last year, Avengers: Endgame gave Marvel fans a clearer perspective on Captain America aka Steve Rogers' conclusion. We are not going to discuss spoilers in this article, promise. However, we are going to discuss Evans' future in Hollywood. There have been speculations that the actor is retiring from acting post Avengers: Endgame.

While our hearts skipped a beat reading these reports, the actor cleared the air about his future. The Avengers star spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about these speculations and rubbished them all. The actor assured he is not going to retire from acting. Thank God!

He told THR, "I never said the word 'retire.' It's a really obnoxious notion for an actor to say they're going to retire — it's not something you retire from." For more context here, back in 2014, the actor spoke about his contract with Marvel Studios and said that after his run as Captain America will come to an end, he would want to go behind the camera more often.

The actor has already directed a movie, titled Before We Go. The Indie movie sees the Marvel actor star in it as well. As far as acting goes, Evans next release is a murder mystery titled Knives Out. The movie is directed by Rian Johnson and is slated to release in November. He's also in the talks to feature in Antoine Fuqua's Infinite.

In the interview, the actor confessed that he was hesitant to take up the role of Captain America. The actor said, "There's no real darkness to him. How do I make this guy someone you want to watch? I don't get jokes. I'm not Wolverine. I don't have dead parents, like Batman. I'm just, like, 'Hi, I'll walk your dog. I'll help you move.'"
