Avengers: Endgame was that once in a lifetime film that marked the culmination of a decade-long, 21 movies MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) journey. It was the type of film filled with one big spoiler after another. As fans, we are eager to know what will happen in the magnanimous movie, but when it's spoiled to us before we watch the film, it becomes a major buzzkill. And, it takes away the audience's viewing pleasure of witnessing the spectacle, without prior knowledge.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Russo Brothers (Anthony Russo & Joe Russo) explained why there was a need for a Spoiler Ban on Avengers: Endgame. Joe reasoned that the world they live in is where the Internet cannot be controlled. "We wanted to make sure that we asked for a level of decorum in how all of that was dealt with," he added. Furthermore, Anthony agrees that the fans will want to discuss the film and share their experiences, which is an important part of the process. "But it's trying to establish a window where people are given the opportunity to see the film," he stressed.
