Avengers: Endgame: New Captain America aka Anthony Mackie thought Tom Holland DIED while filming; Here's WHY
Avengers: Endgame witnessed all the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy come together to beat Thanos. While the scene was iconic, there were interesting events unfolding behind-the-scenes.
Who can forget the sheer cinematic brilliance from the climax of Avengers: Endgame? The scene where Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange brings together the entire Avengers universe together to fight against Thanos. While Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye were already present at the scene, Doctor Strange opened several portals for the other Avengers to join in. The scene is one of the best moments in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, during the course of filming the scene, Anthony Mackie thought Dave Bautista killed Tom Holland.
The actor recently attended the Celebrity Fan Fest. During the interaction with fans, Anthony was asked his favourite moment from the filming of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. He ended up giving a jaw-dropping and unexpected response. "There was one day we were shooting and Tom Holland was standing behind me," he recalled, Comicbook.com reported.
"It was the day when Chris Evans says 'Run' and we all run out to battle so it's all green screen and there's, like, maybe 300 people on set. We had a break in between camera setups and Bautista comes out and he and Tom Holland are talking over my shoulder," Anthony said. "All of a sudden he does this jump, flying, punch kick move and literally, the stage shook. I thought he had hit Tom Holland and I was like 'Oh my God, you just killed Tom!' So I turn around and I see Tom sitting there and am like 'Dude, what are you doing?' and Tom's like 'Calm down, he's teaching me a move!'" he explained. "It was the scariest moment of my life. I thought he killed him," he added.
Woah! What an epic moment it would have been. Thankfully Holland survived and we will see him in Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.
