Avengers: Endgame: Jeremy Renner REVEALS he was not aware of Hawkeye's family's fate while filming
Jeremy Renner confessed that he was not aware of what happened to Hawkeye's family post Thanos' snap as he simultaneously shot for Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame. Read below to know what the actor had to say.
Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye was surprisingly absent from Avengers: Infinity War (2018) along with Ant-Man. While Scott Lang was stuck in the quantum realm, as seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), Clint Barton was under house arrest due to the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War (2016). We were given a flashback look at how Thanos' snap also wiped out all of Clint's family, which included his wife and three children. In what was supposed to be a picnic with Hawkeye teaching his daughter to shoot a bow and arrow perfectly, they suddenly vanish into dust.
Just like Clint, Jeremy revealed that he was clueless as to what happened to Hawkeye's family. Talking about the same at the Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio, Renner stated that when he shot for the family sequence, he was shooting between Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame. While he remembers shooting for the scene, he had no clue as to what happened when they disappeared. Jeremy stated, "And I didn’t know what was happening, I really didn’t. I didn’t know what was happening in Infinity War and everyone turning to dust, I didn’t know that."
"So when I did that, we shot the scene and I was just like ‘Where did they go?’ because they just went away. They didn’t tell me," Renner continued.
Now, that is a clever way by the makers to get a genuinely shocked reaction from Jeremy!
Meanwhile, in an EXCLUSIVE interview with Pinkvilla, Jeremy quipped that he was a part of Avengers: Infinity War as Hawkeye was just busy getting groceries.
