Avengers: Endgame: From Iron Man to Captain Marvel, 5 superheroes who could defeat Thanos in the MCU film

In just a few days, we will be finding out about the after-effects of Avengers: Infinity War (2018). The remaining Avengers including the OG 6 (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye) will do whatever it takes to avenge the fallen and that is only possible by defeating the Mad Titan, Thanos! It seemed impossible in Infinity War when even the strongest superheroes could not hold a candle in front of the magnanimous villain, whose single snap wiped out half the universe.

Given how Marvel Studios is being very cryptic and spoiler-free for the audience to enjoy the film whole-heartedly, fan theories have been aplenty. With just a few minutes of available footage through trailers and snippets, fans are busy deciphering the smallest of details and easter eggs. However, the question remains, who would be THE ONE responsible to end Thanos? Would it be someone from the OG 6 or Captain Marvel? This question will be answered next Friday but until then, Pinkvilla decides to dig deep.

Here are 5 superheroes who we think could defeat Thanos:

1. Iron Man

One of the biggest takeaways from Avengers: Infinity War was the fact that Doctor Strange saved Iron Man from dying at the hands of Thanos. His reasoning was, "We're in the Endgame now." Stephen Strange also went through millions of possible outcomes out of which there is only one circumstance where the Avengers could win. Hence, he saved Iron Man because he will play a key role in defeating Thanos.

2. Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel quips to the rest of the Avengers, that the reason why they were not able to defeat Thanos was that she was not a part of the team back then. Witnessing her superpowers in the standalone film, it would not be wrong to say that she might very well be the one to defeat and put an end to the Mad Titan.

3. Thor

Thor should have gone for the head! Maybe this time, through the route of time travel, Thor will finally reverse the actions and defeat Thanos. Anything to see Thor's fantastic entry again! *cue Led Zepplin's Immigrant Song*

4. Captain America

To see Captain America go face-to-face against Thanos for even a few minutes in Avengers: Infinity War was a treat. If there is anyone who has the heart to destroy Thanos methodically, it's the pseudo Avengers leader, Steve Rogers.

5. Ant-Man

This Avengers: Endgame fan-theory is the most far fetched but you never know with MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), anything is possible! The popular theory suggests that Ant-Man will decrease his size and enter inside Thanos from the rear end. He will then transform into a giant and in the process, kill Thanos.
