With the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame, the story arcs of a few OG Avengers come to an end. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will no longer see Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man/Tony Stark, Chris Evans' version of Captain America/Steve Rogers and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow (although there is a standalone movie based on her past being made). The upcoming Marvel movies will introduce newer characters. While RDJ wanted Ironheart to be a part of the new Avengers, fans are pitching several other names who should join MCU Phase 4. The question remains, will Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson be a part of this new universe?

The wrestling star-turned-actor is undoubtedly one of the most renowned faces in Hollywood. He has been associated with the Fast and Furious franchise, Jumanji reboot and more. He has also been roped in to play Black Adam in the DCEU. However, Avengers: Endgame director Anthony Russo was recently asked if Dwayne were to join the MCU, which character would fit the actor's personality the best? The Russo brother stunned everyone with his answer.

No no, he did not associate him with the Hulk (we love Mark Ruffalo way too much to let that happen). Neither does he picture him as any other Marvel character. Anthony feels if ever Dwayne joins the MCU, he should join it as The Rock. "The superhero that I would most like The Rock to play is The Rock. He is the best version of him," he said, as per a Comicbook.com report. The director made this confession at the MTV Movie & TV Awards 2019 that recently concluded. While we may not see him in a conventional Marvel comic books characters, it would be interesting to see if The Rock would join the Avengers and give Hulk a run for his money.

Meanwhile, Johnson has a busy summer waiting for him. The actor will soon be seen in the Fast & Furious spinoff film Hobbs & Shaw on August 2. He will then return to the big screen in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sequel on December 13 and Disney's Jungle Cruise ride, releasing on July 24, 2020.
