Avengers: Endgame: The creator of Thanos has THIS to say about the character's popularity; Details inside
Jim had mixed feelings about this Mad Titan's raging popularity when quizzed about the character at Niagara Falls Comic Con event. He also stated that he feels blessed to have this character as a part of such a huge film.
Avengers: Endgame saw Thanos decimate half of world's population. The character's creator Jim Starlin states that the character’s popularity post both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame led to some difficulties. Jim had mixed feelings about this Mad Titan's raging popularity when quizzed about the character at Niagara Falls Comic Con event. He also stated that he feels blessed to have this character as a part of such a huge film. Jim Starlin jokingly said that he had to make peace with the fact that he is the father of such an iconic character from a such a globally acclaimed film like Avengers: Endgame.
He further states that the feeling is extremely surreal and also that this new found popularity of Thanos' character has opened many doors for him in terms of getting work. This has also led to some issues but he did not wish to get into those problems. The Thanos creator says the response to the character he built in Thanos has mostly been very optimistic.
Joe Rubinstein, the inker who worked alongside Starlin on the Infinity Gauntlet, said that the films Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame made him very happy about the work done on these films. He further said that in Avengers: Endgame, Thanos was fighting it out with the Avengers and it felt as if the comic characters from the book were alive again on the big screen. Thanos was seen giving a tough fight to Chris Evans aka Captain America and his weapon, the mighty shield.
