3 Times the 'A' reveals were too scandalous for the series Pretty Little Liars
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists was cancelled after the first season leaving the fans angry. The series aired only one season, which ran for 10 episodes beginning in March of this year. The series was a spinoff of 'Pretty Little Liars' with original series stars Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish reprising their roles. It was based on the novel “The Perfectionists,” written by Sara Shepard, who also wrote the book on which “Pretty Little Liars” is based. Fans wanted more of the series as they loved Pretty Little Liars. Ravenswood is also a spin-off of Pretty Little Liars.
Pretty Little Liars is an American teen drama mystery thriller television series developed by I. Marlene King and is loosely based on the novel series of the same name written by Sara Shepard. Its set in the fictional town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania, the series follows the lives of five girls, Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell), Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) and Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) whose inner circle falls apart after Alison the leader of the group disappears. A year later, the remaining four friends are reunited as they begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure named "A,'' who threatens to expose their deepest secrets, including ones they thought only Alison knew. At first, they think it's Alison herself, but after her body is found, the girls realize that someone else is planning on ruining their lives.
Here are the top “A” reveals from the series:
1] Uber A/A.D.
There were many A reveals through out the show, but this had to be in the top 5. When they revealed Uber A was Spencer’s twin sister Alex Drake! Fans were shocked to find that Uber A was a person they didn't even know. Fans had speculated that Spencer had a twin sister previously but it was just a theory till Uber A, also known as A.D., was the third person to take over the identity of "A". In the series finale, Uber A's identity is revealed to be Alex Drake, Spencer's twin sister who was put up for adoption at birth. She desperately craves revenge over the tragic passing of Charlotte DiLaurentis, who was also her half-sister, and is trying to find out the person responsible. Unlike Mona or Charlotte, Alex does not use any nicknames at first but instead signs their messages with emojis, which makes her different from the A-Team. This causes Caleb to nickname her Amoji.
2] Big A
Big A turned out big Alison’s sister Charlotte DiLaurentis (born as Charles Drake: alias CeCe Drake). Charlotte is also the half sister of Spencer and cousin sister of Alison. Big A took over the game from Mona Vanderwaal after she was admitted to Radley Sanitarium. She had visited Mona in Radley and used her to get information about the Liars before taking over the game herself. She made an A-Team, which consisted of her allies Sara, Jenna, Noel, Wren, Wilde, Mona, Toby, Lucas, Melissa and Spencer, to do her work and sometimes went under the Red Coat disguise. Big A often hid out at a lair situated in Room A at an apartment building at Mayflower Hill and a mobile RV which was stolen but Toby gave it back to "A" in exchange for information about his mother's death. It is revealed that Charlotte had been hiding out in the basement of the DiLaurentis house and drilled holes through the floor to spy on the family in her Red Coat disguise and shared the identity with Alison.
3] The Original A
Original A was the first "A" of the series and was revealed to be Mona Vanderwaal. Mona, using the nickname of "A", began bullying Alison through texts and other written messages, while also stalking her. After Alison's disappearance, "A" went away for a year but after the body of Bethany Young (believed to be Alison at the time) was found, she made a comeback. "A" began sending the Liars messages about things only Alison knew about them and soon even began messing with their parents. The liars make a plan to catch ‘A’ several times one of which works. They find out that "A" had a lair at the Lost woods resort and Spencer and Mona ("A's" newest victim) head over there and find a room full of pictures of Alison and the girls along with a sketch of "A's" costume to the ball, The Black Swan. However, Spencer begins to notice other clues and soon realizes "A" is right there with her. She turns around to see Mona in a black hoodie, who reveals herself as "A". She kidnaps Spencer and gives her an opportunity to join the "A" team, but Spencer declines and the two get into a fight, where Mona is pushed off of a cliff. However, Mona joins the new "A.D." team, after "A.D." sends Wren to kill her and she offers to help instead. She makes a ‘cop’ who turns out to be her French Boyfriend, help her take Mary and Alex to France to live in her own personal Dollhouse. Mona is the final "A" of the series, making her the "winner" of the game.
These were the top 3 “A” reveals of the series. There was also an A-Team, which consisted of Sara, Jenna, Noel, Wren, Wilde, Mona, Toby, Lucas, Melissa and Spencer. An alternative ending was shot in which Caleb and Paige. The 2nd member of the A-Team is revealed to be Toby. Multiple endings were shot to avoid the real one from being leaked. These alternate endings are available on the Season 3 DVD.
