Grey’s Anatomy is an American medical drama television series that premiered on March 27, 2005. The fictional series focuses on the lives of surgical interns, residents and attending doctors as they develop into seasoned doctors, while trying to maintain personal lives and relationships. It revolves around the title character Dr. Meredith Grey played by Ellen Pompeo, who first featured as an intern. The original cast consisted of nine actors including Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, T. R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey. The cast has undergone major changes throughout the series's run, with many members leaving and being replaced by others.

Here are the top 5 moments from the first 5 seasons that made fall in love with the show:

1] Rules of Dr. Miranda Bailey

“I’ve five rules. Memorise them. Rule number one, don’t bother sucking up. I already hate you, that’s not gonna change.

Rule number two, nurses will page you you answer every page at a run.

Your shift starts now and lasts 48 hours. You’re interns, grunts, nobodies, bottom of the surgical food chain, you run labs, write orders, work every second night till you drop and don’t complain. On call rooms, attendings hog them, sleep when you can, where you can, which brings me to rule number three. If I am sleeping, don’t wake me unless a patient is actually dying.

Rule number four, the dying patient better not be dead when I get there. Not only would you have killed someone, you would have woke me up for no good reason.

Rule number five, when I move you move."

This was a good scene. What made it better was that the original interns used these rules on their interns when they became residents. You can even see Dr. Lexie Grey ask the same question to Dr. Cristina Yang in season 4 that Dr. Meredith Grey had asked Dr. Bailey.

2] When Addison defended Meredith to a patient.

“I lack Dr. Grey’s class and patience, so let me set the record straight. My husband didn’t cheat on me. I cheated on him. So, the wronged woman here, Dr. Grey. So, I think you owe her one hell of an apology.”

That was when fans began to like Addison. She defended the honour of another woman who in fact had an affair with her then husband.

3] When the ladies gave Derek and Mark and every other good looking doctor nicknames.

“McSexy?

That’s not right.

 McYummy?

 Mmm, no.

McSteamy.

There it is.

Allow me to choke back some McVomit.”

George was definitely disgusted with it, while Cristina, Meredith and Izzie came up with names for Mark Sloan.

4] When the doctors needed Lexie’s help in memorising stuff.

“No more using my sister like database. We broke her.”

Lexie was also known as Lexiepedia. The fans surely do miss her on the show.

5] Whenever Derek and Meredith are in an elevator.

“I am not going out with you.

Did I ask you to go out with me? Do you want to go out with me?

I’m not dating you. You are my boss.

I’m your boss’s boss.”

Fans knew whenever there is an elevator scene, something hilarious between McDreamy and Big Grey is about to happen.
