Amid Taylor Swift, BTS being announced as performers; Here's why Justin Bieber is giving Grammys 2021 a skip
While Justin Bieber is up for a Grammy this year in four categories, including Best Pop Vocal Album for Changes, the 27-year-old singer is reportedly not attending Grammys 2021.
We're just a few days away from music's biggest night as Grammys 2021 is set to take place in and around the Los Angeles Convention Center on March 15, IST. While Beyonce leads the nominations pack with 9 nods, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Ricch follow with six nods each. Moreover, amongst the full performer lineup for Grammys 2021, we will see BTS, Swift, Harry Styles and more taking the Grammys stage.
One artist nominated at Grammys 2021, who is giving the prestigious award ceremony a miss, is none other than Justin Bieber and according to Page Six, we also know the reason why. According to the recent report, Bieber is not attending the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards because he's not performing at this year's show. For the unversed, Justin has been nominated for four Grammys; Best Pop Vocal Album for Changes, Best Pop Solo Performance for Yummy, Best Pop Duo-Group Performance for Intentions ft. Quavo and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for 10,000 Hours with Dan + Shay.

Interestingly, in a November 24 Instagram post last year, Justin revealed how he felt "strange" and "weird" about Changes being nominated in the pop category rather than R&B. "I set out to make an R&B album. Changes was and is an R&B album. It is not being acknowledged as an R&B album which very strange to me," Bieber penned in a lengthy post aimed at the Grammys.
JB added, "I grew up admiring R&B music and wished to make a project that would embody that sound. For this not to be put into that category feels weird considering from the chords to the melodies to the vocal style all the way down to the hip hop drums that were chosen it is undeniably, unmistakably an R&B Album!"
