After Christian Bale, The Dark Knight star Maggie Gyllenhaal thinks Robert Pattinson would make a great Batman
Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is known for playing Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight (2008), was asked what she thought about Robert Pattinson as the new Batman. The actress revealed that she really likes the casting choice and was all praises for Robert.
Robert Pattinson as Batman! Some cheered for the casting choice while several were left confused with the idea of seeing the Twilight (2008) star as the Caped Crusader. Before Robert, there was Ben Affleck, who was heavily criticised for his performance as Bruce Wayne and hence the negative reaction to the recent Batman casting choice does not come as such a surprise. But, one of the seal of approvals for Mr. Pattinson comes in the hands of former Batman himself, Christian Bale, who believes that the 33-year-old actor will prove naysayers wrong like how the late Heath Ledger had done with Joker in The Dark Knight (2008).
Another The Dark Knight star who thinks Robert is the perfect choice to fill the shoes of the Caped Crusader is Maggie Gyllenhaal. DC fans know Maggie as Rachel Dawes, Bruce's childhood sweetheart. Talking to Variety about what she felt about Pattinson being cast as Batman, Gyllenhaal shared, "I really like him. I think he’s a really really good actor. I really do. I think he’s a super compelling actor. I think… I don’t know, I think that’s going to be great."
