Adarsh Gourav thanks Ramin Bahrani for 'trusting' him as he gets BAFTA nod for The White Tiger
Adarsh Gourav is in the BAFTA 2021 race against international heavyweights like Riz Ahmed, late Chadwick Boseman, Anthony Hopkins, Mads Mikkelsen and Tahar Rahim.
The awards season only got better as the BAFTA 2021 nominations list was announced on Tuesday night. In a celebration of sorts, the nominees are more diverse than ever and from our home turf it is Adarsh Gourav who is leading the way. For the unversed, the young actor has been nominated in the Best Actor category for The White Tiger. Adarsh is in the race against international heavyweights like Riz Ahmed (Sound Of Metal), late Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Anthony Hopkins (The Father), Mads Mikkelsen (Another Round) and Tahar Rahim (The Mauritanian).
Reacting to the big news, Adarsh was undoubtedly ecstatic as he took to social media to share a post. Adarsh also thanked director Ramin Bahrani for trusting him to play an intense character as Balram Halwai. Reacting to his nomination, Adarsh wrote, "Holy shit it's really happening! Thank you Ramin for trusting me to play the character that has given me more than anything I've ever experienced Congratulations to the team for two BAFTA nominations!! Best adapted screenplay and Leading actor. Adarsh's co-star Priyanka Chopra also broke the big news on her social media and wished him on the nomination. PC wrote, "What a proud moment for Indian talent with 2 BAFTA nominations for an ALL INDIAN STAR CAST!!
