Ad Astra star Brad Pitt: When I watch Christian Bale or Tom Hardy, I can't do what they do
Brad Pitt talks about how he brings his personal experiences and embarrassments to every movie role to make it unconventional from any other actor. However, the Ad Astra star was quick to point out that he can't do what Christian Bale or Tom Hardy can do. Read below to know more about what the 55-year-old actor had to say on the same.
Brad Pitt is having one of the best years in Hollywood, given his two releases - Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Ad Astra. Quentin Tarantino's ninth directorial, which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, was not only critically acclaimed but was also a box-office hit! On the other hand, Brad's performance in Ad Astra, which is helmed by James Gray, has been receiving rave reviews. There has been tremendous Oscar buzz for Pitt as well, both in the supporting actor and leading actor categories.
In an interview with GQ magazine, the 55-year-old actor was quizzed on what drew him to both the Hollywood projects, given his recent distancing from acting. To this, Brad shared that he has been asking one question to himself for the past fifteen years - "If I'm gonna do the role, what can I bring to it that someone else can't?" Talking about how he brings his personal experiences and embarrassments to his performances, Pitt revealed, "Well, it's about bringing my personal experience, my personal humor, my personal, um, embarrassments, and my personal pains."
Furthermore, Brad added, "When I watch [Christian] Bale or [Tom] Hardy, I can't do what they do. I love watching them. And I couldn't step into that role.” But: “I want to do the same thing on my end."

Pitt and Christian have worked together in The Big Short (2015).
