Africa's opener Hasim Amla became the second fastest to reach 8000 runs in ODIs. He achieved this feat in the sixth game of their World Cup campaign against New Zealand at Edgbaston, Birmingham on 19th June 2019.
Hashim Amla needed 24 runs to go past this magic number. In doing so, he became the fourth South African batsmen after Jacques Kallis, Herschelle Gibbs and AB de Villiers.
