Happy Birthday Jimin: When BTS & ARMY left ChimChim stumped by singing to him in Arabic in Saudi Arabia

Everyone's favourite ChimChim; BTS' Jimin is celebrating his 25th birthday today, i.e. October 13, 2020. After the clock struck midnight in Korea, the handsome birthday boy was flooded with adorable wishes from his members while the Filter singer promised to come on VLive to interact with BTS ARMY. To celebrate the big occasion, we take a walk down memory lane to his last birthday, when BTS and ARMY cooked up a big surprise for Baby Mochi.

It was during BTS' Riyadh, Saudi Arabia concert for their Love Yourself Speak Yourself Tour when the BTS members memorised how to sing Happy Birthday in Arabic just for their bandmate. Thanks to the November 15, 2019 Bangtan Bomb, we got to see how the septet, sans Jimin, sat in the waiting room and rehearsed their lines while ChimChim was busy rehearsing for his Serendipity performance. Then, towards the end of the night, we see the members and ARMY serenading a stumped Jimin with the Arabic version of the Happy Birthday song.

While initially clueless, Baby Mochi caught on that they were singing to him and started jumping around the stage thanking everyone. "I'm so happy now. Thank you, everybody. I forgot that my birthday has come. So I'm really happy for this surprise celebration. And it makes me happier that I can be with you and my members on my birthday. Thank you! I love you," ChimChim gushed according to YouTube channel Channeem Subtitles' translation.

After getting off the stage, an overwhelmed Jimin shared his feelings about the epic birthday surprise confessing, "I didn't know that. I really didn't know that. I thought 'Huh? I didn't practice this song and I'll be the only one who can't sing this song.' So I decided to lip-sync. I thought it was a song to celebrate the new year at first. And then I thought, 'Isn't it too far to celebrate the new year now?' But I kept listening to it and realised that it was the Happy Birthday song. At that moment I was so moved and happy. Who could imagine that we would be loved far away from home? So I was really happy and today was fun. Actually, Jungkook made me happier. I saw Jungkook and that kid looked really happy. So I think I got more excited from that moment. It was really fun."
