Blind Item: Troubled Filmmaker
Looks like a romantic comedy to be made by a critically acclaimed and commercially successful filmmaker is in trouble thanks to it’s maker’s tantrums.
Sources from the film’s team anxiously mention that its writer-director flies off the handle very frequently. So much so that she physically pushed a senior crew member during an argument. The crew member couldn't endure this, and therefore, decided to leave the project right there and then. When she reached out to the head honchos of the production house with her grievance, they heard her out patiently but advised her to ‘just deal with it’.
Reports also suggest that the film’s stylist, an experienced person who is currently in charge of a star studded period drama & a Yashraj film, also decided to leave the project after differences with its director escalated. The filmmaker gave this stylist a earful and she chose not to stick around for more. However, when she asked for due payment of work done, the film’s powers to be did'nt respond positively either.
As for the film’s casting, it has changed from the original casting of a male star who once ruled the romantic comedy space opposite a popular, critically acclaimed actress known for her sartorial style. Having made comments to the press that it’s male star’s recent box office failures wouldn’t impact their film, the producer of this romantic comedy then proceeded to suggest a significant adjustment to his fee. Thereby, the male star stepped away from the project, as did the leading lady. Now, the film will be made with a leading heroine who has also found work in America, and an imported heart throb.
However, with its current cast & crew issues & adjustments, this romantic comedy will require longer preparation time. As for the moody filmmaker, her recent flaring temper has been disseminated far & wide by disgruntled members of her team.
