EXO's D.O. BAGS the lead role in the Korean remake of Taiwanese film Secret
EXO's D.O. marks his second screen outing post-military discharge with the Korean remake of Taiwanese film Secret. Read below to find out details.
EXO's D.O. is back with not one but two projects! The singer was officially discharged from his mandatory military service on January 25, directly from his final base, in accordance with COVID-19 protocol. Soon after his discharge from the military, he began filming for the movie The Moon, alongside veteran stars Kim Hee Ae and Sol Kyung Gu. Now, the singer is confirmed to star in another project, a new film titled Secret!
According to a report carried out by iMBC via Soompi, it was announced that D.O. will be headlining the Korean remake of the Taiwanese film, Secret. It is a fantasy romance plot about a piano prodigy who transfers into a new school and encounters a girl playing a mysterious melody in an old practice room. This will mark the beginning of a new romance between them. D.O. will be playing the male lead, which was essayed by actor Jay Chou in the original film. The female lead, who will play Gwei Lun Mei's part in the Korean remake will be finalised through auditions. The Korean remake will be directed by acclaimed director Seo Yoo Min, who has previously directed Happiness, April Snow, You Call It Passion, and the forthcoming tentatively titled film Memories of Tomorrow. D.O. is scheduled to begin filming for Secret in the second half of the year.
D.O. also had a special gift waiting for EXO-L, on the day of his discharge, as he dropped a live clip video of his heartwarming song That's Okay. That's Okay was released on July 1, 2019, the day D.O. enlisted for the military.
