Dhadak Box office collection prediction: Here's how much the film will earn on Day 1

Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter are both excited and nervous for their big Bollywood test tomorrow. The two have been rigorously promoting their upcoming film, Dhadak. The posters, promos, songs and trailer have surely added to the curiosity levels of the audience. People are eager to see Sridevi's daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, on the big screen. 

Ishaan has already proved that he has the potential of becoming a gen-next star, courtesy his strong performance in Beyond The Clouds. But, BTC was an offbeat film and Dhadak is an out-and-out massy film - this will give Ishaan a bigger platform to showcase his acting skills. 

Dhadak is an official Hindi adaptation of Marathi hit film, Sairat. Well, comparisons are bound to happen. Director Shashank Khaitan and the lead cast are ready for the comparisons and have tried their best to give justice. 

The film is all set to hit the screen tomorrow. We got in touch with the trade experts to know their take on the day 1 box office figures. 

How much would Dhadak earn on Day 1?

Akshaye Rathi 

Taking everything in consideration, I am looking at the figure of Rs 7-10 crore which is incredible for debutantes irrespective of the Sridevi factor or anything per se around the film. I think it would be around Rs 25 crore, if reports are good. 

Atul Mohan

I am looking for around Rs 8-10 crore. Well, the hype for the movie is there and Sridevi factor is one of the major driving force as people are eagerly waiting to see her daughter's debut - Janhvi Kapoor. She comes from a family that has roots in the entertainment industry and her dad is also a known producer. The weekend should be around Rs 25 crore. Ishaan is also getting a big platform as Dhadak is a typical Bollywood film unlike Beyond The Clouds because it was an offbeat film. 

On comparisons with Sairat

Akshaye Rathi

As good as it did, Sairat was ultimately a regional film. Beyond Maharashtra, Dhadak would be treated as a brand new product. Even in Maharashtra, there would be a lot of curiosity as it's the remake of Sairat. It's one of the few Marathi films which has been remade and that to be by A-Lister production house. They are launching two debutantes - Ishaan - for him this would be like his Bollywood debut as Beyond The Clouds was for niche audience and of course Janhvi is Sridevi's daughter and that adds to curiosity. It certainly looks like a promising film and the music is good. All the factors combined - the film would work. Shashank Khaitan's screen sense will play its part. 

Atul Mohan

Dhadak being the adaptation of Sairat is surely piquing the interest of the viewers. This was huge for Marathi cinema that Sairat did a 100 crore business. Karan Johar has taken a risky decision but I am sure he has done improvisations considering his experience of filmmaking. Remaking a hit movie is a big thing and it will be interesting to see how Hindi version will be welcomed by the audience. 

The film has recieved favorable reviews and Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor's performance is being lauded by one and all. The film has been promoted well and Janhvi and Ishaan won the audience's hearts during promotions. The film is set to do great business at the box-office owing to good promotions and intriguing trailer. The songs of the film have also become chartbusters.

There is no other big-ticket release around Dhadak's release date. The film was earlier set to release on July 7, 2018, but Karan Johar moved it to the 20th so that Sanju's release does not affect Dhadak.
