Jackie Shroff: Was always in awe of Sridevi

Sridevi's demise is a huge loss to the Indian film industry. Everyone is shocked and heartbroken that one of the best actors in the country is no more. Jackie Shroff told us that he was in awe of the actor.

India's first female superstar Sridevi died of accidental drowning in Dubai on Saturday night (February 24, 2018). Last night, Sridevi's mortal remains were brought from Dubai to Mumbai.

Today, condolences and last respects will be given to the actor between 9.30 am to 12.30 am at Celebration Sports Club, Andheri. The cremation ceremony will be 3.30 pm onwards at Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery, Next to Pawan Hans. 

A lot of celebrities who have worked with her are in a state of shock due to her demise and are remembering her.

Actor Jackie Shroff, who worked with her in Karma and many other films told us, "Was always in awe of her. Used to be sitting in some corner with her mom or sister, but in front of the camera it was fireworks."

Yesterday Dubai Media Office tweeted from their official handle and confirmed the news about her mortal remains leaving from Dubai. "Dubai Public Prosecution has approved the release of the body of the Indian actress Sridevi to her family following the completion of a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of her death,” the official handle tweeted. 

"Dubai Public Prosecution stressed that all regular procedures followed in such cases have been completed. As per the forensic report, the death of the Indian actress occurred due to accidental drowning following the loss of consciousness. The case has now been closed,” another tweet read. 

Many Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and others visited Anil Kapoor’s residence in Mumbai to offer their condolences to the bereaved family. The family in a statement announced that the prayer meet and cremation of the actor will be held tomorrow starting at 9:30 in the morning.

Sridevi is survived by daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor and husband Boney Kapoor.
