India's Me Too Movement has FINALLY arrived and women are calling out names. To much shock to all the fans and industry people, Alok Nath, who is famous for 'sanskaari' roles, has been accused of rape by filmmaker and writer Vinta Nanda. She posted about the incident on her Facebook page on October 8. She has alleged that Nath raped her more than once 19 years ago after he was sacked from their iconic show Tara for misbehaving with its lead actress. In her long post, she even called Nath an alcoholic.
Today, we got in touch with Vinta Nanda and she told us, "It's all there on my Facebook. I won't say anything less or more. But, I want to say that I am really overwhelmed with all the support that I am getting. There's no end in it. Tanushree has definitely has broken grass-ceiling but this has been going on from some time. She has come out with a force that it required. I think now if they don't change, they will never change. Fortunately, it's far behind in my case and the trauma is not that close as it's to other people. I have really put myself and I felt that it's important that young girls get a sense of confidence from that. It's a good time for women and girls and I think we all should rally together to make sure that in future, nobody tries something that's not respectful for women."
Here's the Facebook Post:
It all started when Tanushree Dutta first broke her silence and said that Nana Patekar harassed on the sets of Horn Ok Pleasss. Post her statement, women have gathered the courage to speak up and narrate their incidents out in open. She has accused him of harassing her while shooting for a special dance number in the movie and also stated that ace Bollywood dance choreographer Ganesh Acharya teamed up with him against her.
Patekar, however, has denied all the allegations and said "a lie will remain a lie."
