EXCLUSIVE: URI actor Mohit Raina on Surgical Strikes 2.0: India won’t be silent anymore
We got in touch with Mohit Raina who played the role of an army officer in the movie URI: The Surgical Strike to know his reaction on the surgical strike carried out by the Indian Air Force in the early morning.
“Yeh naya Hindustan hai, yeh ghar mein ghusega bhi, aur maarega bhi” - This dialogue from Aditya Dhar’s movie URI: The Surgical Strikes evoked patriotism in the hearts of every Indian. In the morning, the nation woke up to the news of India carrying out a surgical strike at three launchpads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Twitter was flooded with reactions and people were appreciating IAF for taking such a brave step. This is the second surgical strike that India has carried out after URI. We got in touch with Mohit Raina who played the role of an army officer in the movie URI: The Surgical Strike to know his reaction on the surgical strike carried out by the Indian Air Force in the early morning.
Mohit told us, “Well, this is definitely a new India. Air strikes are usually avoided as far my limited knowledge is and the last was done in 1971. This is sending a very clear message to the perpetrators, India won't be silent anymore.” Mohit was appreciated for his role in the movie. With URI, he marked his Bollywood debut. Uri is based on the surgical strikes that the Indian Army’s Special Forces carried out across Line of Control (LoC) on September 29, 2016, in response to the death of the 19 unarmed soldiers who were killed at Kashmir’s Uri basecamp on September 18, 2016, in an early morning attack by Pakistani terrorists.
Apart from Mohit Raina, the film also stars Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam and Kirti Kulhari in the lead roles. The film has now collected almost Rs 235 crores at the box office.
