EXCLUSIVE: Tigmanshu Dhulia on Shah Rukh Khan: He has put his heart, soul, mind, time and energy in Zero

Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif will be seen again on screen in Aanand L Rai starrer Zero. In the film, SRK will be seen as a vertically challenged man named Bauua Singh, who will be from Meerut. Katrina Kaif plays an actress and Anushka Sharma will be seen as a scientist in the film. Two news posters were shared this week. The first two teasers gave us an idea of the fun-loving and bindaas attitude of Bauua in the film. 

Today, on SRK's 53rd birthday, the makers will finally release the trailer of Zero. The film wil have special appearances by many Bollywood celebs including Salman Khan, Kajol, Karisma Kapoor, Rani Mukerji and others. Actor-director Tigmanshu Dhulia will be playing Shah Rukh Khan's (Bauua) father. This is the first time Tigmanshu and Shah Rukh will be seen on screen together. In an EXCLUSIVE interview with Pinkvilla, Tigmanshu Dhulia talked about SRK, Zero and his experience of working with Rai.

How was the experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan in Zero?

It was wonderful. I've worked with him before as a dialogue writer in Dil Se. He is extremely modest and very down to earth and a very polite person. He would come to the sets, shake hands with all his co-actors because he was the producer of the film. He would ask everybody if they were comfortable. Whenever he entered the set, there was an instant aura of positive energy.

We all only knew that SRK will be playing Bauua Singh. Nothing about the story is out, not even a slightest hint. How did the team manage to keep it a secret?

We are all professionals. Everyone working on the sets were experienced and professional people. They know the gravity of the production and how serious the entire endeavour is. It's an unwritten code that nothing should be revealed outside, if the producers are not willing to. Everyone abides by the unwritten code.

Anushka Sharma recently said in an interview that she has seen SRK was very passionate while filming Zero. What did you observe?

Yes, of course, she is right. He has put so much amount of money, energy and time in the production. He must have believed in Rai's script and the character he is playing. Shah Rukh Khan is a very passionate worker and that everybody knows. He puts his heart, soul, mind, time and energy in whatever he does and it was very evident. He doesn't take his work lightly. He is very professional. 

What would you like to say to SRK as he turns 53?

He should keep smiling and keep  spreading his positive spirit. He has a great talent and I wish him the best of health and energy. I wish everything good for him.
