EXCLUSIVE - Rohit Shetty refutes rumours of approaching Katrina Kaif opposite Ranveer Singh for Temper remake
Rohit Shetty to direct Ranveer Singh in the remake of Telugu film Temper.
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty confirmed that he will be teaming up with Ranveer Singh for a raw action film. He stated, "I am going to direct Ranveer very soon. The film will go on floors after he completes Padmavati and Zoya Akhtar’s film. It is going to be a raw action film."
Now, a leading tabloid reported that Katrina Kaif has been approached for the film. The sources stated that Rohit is keen on casting her for the film.
But, when we got in touch with Rohit, he refuted all the rumours. He said, "I am shooting in Hyderabad, I don't know where this story has started coming from. Nobody has been approached for the role as of now."
He further added, "I am busy with Golmaal Again and we are simultaneously working on the Temper remake. We won't be approaching anyone till December and any news before that is fake."
Well, that puts an end to all the rumours!
For, the remake of the Telugu film Temper, Ranveer Singh will don the hat of a police officer, though a corrupt one. Sources close to the movie revealed to the daily that the movie will be a remake of 2015 super hit. The south film's story revolved around a corrupt police officer joining hands with an influential smuggler and how the cop's girlfriend brings about a change in him with a little help from an honest constable.
With this movie, it is the first time that Ranveer Singh will turn a cop and interestingly, none of his contemporaries have ventured into this zone. Arjun Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan or Sidharth Malhotra - none of them have played police officers as of yet, thus making Singh the first to play in his generation of actors.
