EXCLUSIVE - Richa Chadha on dating Ali Fazal: I never thought I'll ever fall for an actor
Richa Chadha gets candid about dating Ali Fazal. Speaking of dating Ali, she said, "I have had bad experiences with actors on outdoor shoots and I never thought I'll fall for an actor. But with this experience, I have learnt that never say never."
When Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha confirmed their relationships, fans went into a frenzy. The two actors have been dating for over a year and made quite a statement when Ali had Richa by his side for the world premiere of his film at the ongoing Venice International Film Festival.
We got a chance to talk to Richa who starred with Ali in Fukrey Returns. We asked her that she once said that she would not fall in love with an actor in an interview in 2013 but what changed post meeting Ali. The actor giggled and said, "I have had bad experiences with actors on outdoor shoots and I never thought I'll fall for an actor. But with this experience, I have learnt that never say never. What we like about each other is that we give each other space and as we both are actors, we understand the demands of the profession. And at the same time, we both are from middle-class families."
She went on to add, "He is a great intellectual match for me, he is well read and educated guy. He has common interests like me - art, literature, music and photography. Sometimes we cook together and even workout together."
Is wedding on cards anytime soon? On these lines, Richa said, "I don't know about it and we don't want to give anyone that much access to our life. If it happens, it will be very private and for us. We are very fresh and new, we want to take it slow and be happy."
In an earlier interview, Ali had expressed his feelings and said, "It’s our friendship, which grew over time. It’s so easy for everyone to fit us in a genre and label it love. Love is when we last, so the hope is that we arrive somewhere close to that. I just hope this is the last time I will be disclosing status on my personal life. We don’t want to jeopardise our little friendship. But am happy, I am very happy."
A source earlier told a leading daily, "They met for the first time in Casablanca on a brand shoot and Ali got in a fight with the authorities about choosing between two models for the shoot at Rick’s cafe. Richa had come and bailed Ali out of a local jail purely on conversational skills, almost like bargaining. Ali was smitten by her after that incident."
