EXCLUSIVE: Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub: Once you see SRK as Bauua in Zero, it feels like he's a different person
In an EXCLUSIVE interview with Pinkvilla, actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub spoke about his equation with Shah Rukh Khan, working in Zero and his future projects.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turns 53 today. Wishes and love from the film industry and fans are pouring in for the actor on social media. Khan celebrated his birthday at his home with his family and even greeted his fans waiting for him outside Mannat. This year, SRK's birthday is more special as the trailer of his much awaited film Zero will be out today. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles.
In Zero, the Dil Se actor will be playing a vertically challenged man named Bauua Singh. In the first two teasers, we got to see Bauua's cool and spunky personality. Yesterday, we got to know that SRK's Raees co-star Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub is also a part of Zero. In Raees, SRK and Zeeshan's friendship was an important aspect of the film. The film wouldn't have been the same without Zeeshan, his equation with Raees and his fantastic performance.
In an EXCLUSIVE interview with Pinvilla, we spoke to Zeeshan Ayyub about SRK, Zero and Manikarnika.
You have worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees. How was the experience?
He is a power source. He radiates energy. When I joined Raees, I was actually planning to quit Bollywood. Then, I met him for the first time and he just shook my hand. I think he passed some energy or something and I was like, I have to work and keep working. He is such a great human being.
Like always whenever I act with you, I want to thank u for making me a better actor my friend! Love you my Guddu! https://t.co/xu9tHDkEAp
As an actor, what have you learned for SRK?
I've learned a lot of things. The way he takes care of everybody and remembers everyone, the way he gives regards to everyone in life. As an actor, he is always energetic. He never gives a shot like 'Oh, now I am tired. Just take one shot and give it away'. He gives 100 percent. He taught me how you shouldn't be tired and how you should approach your work.
The trailer of Zero is releasing tomorrow, on SRK's birthday and you are also a part of the film. What do you think of his performance in it?
It is the best occasion to release the trailer. Once you see it, it feels like he is a different human being. What he has done as Bauua Singh, nobody has seen him doing anything like this yet. It's one of his best performances and it a new SRK you'll see tomorrow.
You have Zero, then Thugs of Hindostan and then Manikarnika. Despite being an outsider, you made your mark. Your thoughts?
These offers just came to me. I liked the scripts and the characters. Fortunately or unfortunately, I am getting big films only. People are putting their trust in me. I feel confident and I feel people are ready to invest in me in terms of good and important characters. It's gives you strength.
What advice would you like to give to outsiders trying their luck in the film industry?
There is no shortcut to get into Bollywood, or any field for that matter. The first thing is if anybody is telling you that by doing something, they will give you good offers or will get you launched, they are not going to do that. Because everybody is here to make films and not to make a star out of anybody. Second thing is one should trust more in his or her craft rather than anything else. You need to keep working. Third thing is don't do something if you are not happy with it.
