EXCLUSIVE: Manikarnika producer Kamal Jain on plagiarism: You can't have a copyright on one dialogue

The trailer of Kangana Ranaut's most awaited film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has been unveiled yesterday and fans have loved Kangana as the fierce Rani Laxmibai. She is strong as Manikarnika and the film traces the whole journey of how she became one of the important freedom fighters of our country. Kangana is leaving no stone unturned for the project. Going by the trailer, we can say the movie would be a visual spectacle for the audiences. Fans are eager to see the film on the big screen. 

There have been many hurdles that came the way of Manikarnika, but Kangana has been dealing with them in the most responsible way. Producer Kamal Jain has also been supportive of Kangana in this journey. Now, there’s one dialogue in the trailer has created troubles. The Manikarnika trailer ends with Kangana saying, “Jhansi aap bhi chahte hain, aur main bhi, fark sirf itna hai aapko raaj karna hai, aur mujhe apno ki seva.” Interesting, Hrithik Roshan said the similar dialogue in Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro. 

Mudassar Aziz, who last directed Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, tweeted, “A dialogue in #Manikarnika ‘s trailer is the exact same as what was in #Mohenjodaro (trailer & film)! Never a nice feeling “Farq yeh hai ki tujhe raj karna hai aur mujhe seva!” Hope it’s a coincidence & so it’s never too late to correct it! Please.”

Producer Kamal Jain has now given a reply when we asked about the same. On the allegations of plagiarism, he said, "First and foremost, you can't have a copyright on one dialogue and that's a very general comment. BJP politicians say the same dialogue everywhere on the stage that  humko  raj  karna  hai. It's not his dialogue. It's very stupid of Mudassar to even say that. I would have understood that if the whole film was copied, one dialogue can never copyright. It's a very common phrase. He got publicity by tweeting this. It's a publicity stunt from his side."
