EXCLUSIVE: Madhu Chopra on Ventilator winning Filmfare Marathi Award - It's because of Priyanka Chopra's dedication and intent
Priyanka Chopra’s debut Marathi film Ventilator won five awards at the Filmfare Awards Marathi 2017.
Priyanka Chopra’s debut Marathi film Ventilator produced by her production house Purple Pebble Pictures which released last year has been winning accolades and appreciation by both the critics and the viewers. The film bagged 15 nominations at the Filmfare Awards Marathi 2017 out of which, it won in 5 categories.
We got in touch with Priyanka's mom Madhu Chopra and congratulated her on the big win. When asked about her reaction to the happy news, she was elated to share that, "It's huge. At first, it was unbelievable to see 15 nominations. I would say it's completely surreal and then to attend the event and seeing the film winning in five segments was huge. So it was under 5 segments and we got six black ladies. It's so amazing and a beautiful feeling."
How did Priyanka react to it? "She has always been very supportive and it's because of her dedication and intent that we have been able to bring regional cinema to forth. Someone like Priyanka is looking into regional cinema when she could have done anything anywhere in the world - but she is looking back and looking at all the regional things in India. It's something that Priyanka stands for. It's her vision and Purple Pebble Pictures is living up to it," said Madhu Chopra.
After Priyanka got to know that the film has bagged 15 nominations, she said, "As a producer, I couldn’t have asked for anything more for my first Marathi venture. It’s such an honor for us at Purple Pebble Pictures and the entire team of Ventilator. 15 nomination, we’re truly overwhelmed. It’s a testament to Rajesh Mapuskar, Jitendra Joshi, Ashutosh Gowariker, Dr. Madhu Chopra and everyone who worked as a team, bringing their incredible skills to the mix and coming together to deliver such an amazing film. Thank you Filmfare for the recognition and huge congratulations to the entire team."
