EXCLUSIVE: Ishaan Khatter on Shahid Kapoor's Padmaavat- I believe he has done a spectacular job

Today, we got to meet Shahid's brother Ishaan Khatter at the trailer launch of his debut film Beyond The Clouds. We asked him about his reaction to Shahid's role in Padmaavat.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat starring Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone has finally hit the screens. Despite all the controversies, the film is doing well at the box office. Today, we got to meet Shahid's brother Ishaan Khatter at the trailer launch of his debut film Beyond The Clouds. We asked him about his reaction to Shahid's role in Padmaavat.
To this, he told us, "I believe he has done a spectacular job and I am proud of him that he took such a role. More than anything, he did the role with all his conviction."
At the event, he was asked about the competition at home - now that he is also getting into the industry, will Shahid find it more difficult? On this, he said, "If I am doing a Bollywood debut, why would it be a competition for #ShahidKapoor? In fact, he is a teacher for me and he is a paternal figure in my life. We are a team."
At the trailer launch, he was also asked about the people he took suggestion from as he is finally stepping into the industry with such a powerful film. Ishaan stated, "I took my mom's (Neelima Azim) suggestion for the film and then it was my brother Shahid Kapoor that I went to. Shahid said that just listen to your heart." He further said, "Then I asked Karan Johar too because I am also doing Dhadak."
Beyond The Clouds celebrates the triumph and adoration of life against a Mumbai backdrop. The film also stars Malayalam actor Malavika Mohanan in the lead role.
