Arshad Warsi in an exclusive interaction with us, spoke at length about giving voiceover for the Hindi version of Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge
Arshad Warsi has given the voiceover for the Hindi version of Johnny Depp starrer Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge.
During an exclusive interaction with us, we asked him about his reaction, when he was offered this project. To which he said, "I loved it. I have never dubbed for anybody else except for myself in my life. If it was some other character, I probably would not have done it, let's be honest. It is Jack Sparrow and it's Pirates of the Carribean. It is so difficult to say no, it is so much of fun. The guy is either drunk or less drunk or hungover. It is so good. He doesn't talk normally and it is tough to dub for a drunk person or even act in a movie like a drunk. These are difficult things to do and I love the character of Jack Sparrow. When I saw it, I really felt great being a part of it. So, to do the voice for that character was unbelievable."
So, did he bring any modulations to his voice before entering the studio? Arshad replied, "No, you cannot do any modulations for this character. My entire challenge was to come as close as possible to dub Johnny Depp way. I enjoyed dubbing because of the way he spoke. If that goes away, then I have lost the fun. When people watch it they should not miss Depp so much, they should still enjoy it."
When asked if he is a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, the actor said, "Let me say yes for the Pirates of the Carribean. But, the fact is we all are Jack Sparrow fan. I would not even say Johnny Depp, I would say Jack Sparrow. He is too cool."
Talking about his kids' reaction on his big venture, Arshad stated, "You know what, unfortunately, what happens with stars kids, they really don't give a s**t to what you do. They don't care. Everybody else is like 'Wow', but our kids are like, Yeah, big deal!' That's the problem. I mean they are quite excited, they are confused actually, to be honest. I asked them do you wish to see the film. They want to see it in English and I said I gave the voice in Hindi.
