EXCLUSIVE: Katrina Kaif to be a part of Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan

Katrina Kaif joins Aamir Khan for Thugs Of Hindostan.

Katrina Kaif is on a roll these days ever since she has made a debut on Instagram. Anything and everything about her is bound to make headlines. There were rumours that Katrina's Tiger Zinda Hai co-star Salman recommended her name to Aamir Khan for Thugs of Hindostan.

Now, a little birdie has informed us that Katrina, indeed, is a part of Aamir Khan's much-awaited project. Not just Katrina, but Aamir's Dangal girl Fatima Sana Shaikh will also be onboard with the actor for the film. YRF has also confirmed that Katrina is very much the part of Thugs of Hindostan. The film is all set to go on floors on June 1, this year and is scheduled for 2018 Dilwali release.

Talking about Fatima's character, director Vijay Krishna Acharya said, "The role of the girl is pivotal to the film so it was crucial for us to find the perfect fit. Through a rigorous round of auditions and action workshops, we found in Fatima a truly dedicated actor and a gifted performer of the action. We are very happy to have found the perfect girl for our film."

On how she got the role, a source revealed to a leading daily, "Nobody was surprised when Fatima Sana Shaikh was signed opposite Aamir Khan in Thugs Of Hindostan. While a few top actresses including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and even Vaani Kapoor were in talks to do the film, most of them, save Vaani, weren’t so keen once they heard the fee for the film, especially when Aamir was being given his market price and more. The actresses had loved the script as it revolved around the female protagonist taking revenge but the talks fizzled out when they realised that Aditya Chopra wanted them to sign the film almost for free. There was a discussion whether Vaani or Fatima suited the role better — the latter was Aamir’s choice and the former Adi’s. Eventually, Aamir had his way."

Apart from Fatima, Amitabh Bachchan will also be seen with Aamir in Thugs of Hindostan. Aamir Khan, on his Facebook, had earlier written, "Finally, the moment I've been waiting for has come... to work with my icon, Mr. Bachchan! Thanks Adi, Victor, for 'Thugs of Hindostan'. I'm too thrilled to be working with the actor I have admired all of my life. Shoot starts early next year, and the release has been locked for Diwali 2018. Can't wait to get started! Fingers crossed."
