Here's what trade experts have to say about the opening day figures of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
Who isn't waiting for SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to hit the theatres? Now, with only days left for the release, fan's excitement is on to some other level and it is reflected through the tweets and Facebook posts which are in abundance. The craze is such that the morning shows on Day 1 which is a working Friday are almost full. The expectations are way too high from this magnum opus. Going by the screen count which is around 9000, opening day collection has to be huge.
Producer Shobu Yarlagadda, at the trailer launch of Baahubali: The Conclusion, said, "The first part we didn't make any money that much I can tell you. The second one we will make a lot of money which will compensate for what we didn't make in the first part. The budget of both the parts together is around INR 450 crore."
Going by the all the figures, the filmmakers have recovered almost the production money and now it's all about making money. From the last two years, one promotional strategy which has been working for the film is the mystery behind why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?
The film boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj. With such stellar cast, the movie is bound to mint money. Trade Experts have already begun the prediction game. Here's what they have to say about the opening day figures of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion:
Akshaye Rathi
I think across four languages I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the highest opener. I pretty much see INR 60 crore plus for the opening day including all the languages. Films like Dhoom 3, Sultan or Prem Ratan Dhan Payo opened huge in Hindi, but didn't do that well in Tamil and Telugu. But, Baahubali is going to be massive in Telugu and will also do good as well in Hindi. This is one film in which the anticipation is equally huge across states and other regions. It will be the highest day 1 till now in India. I really don't think that Karnataka's controversy will affect the film anyway. I don't call Baahubali a movie, but a cinematic experience. It has that kind of scale and grandeur. It's going to be massive.

Opening day shouldn't be less than INR 100 crore all languages combined. It is as good as the range of Salman Khan or Aamir Khan's films. It has 4000 plus screens as each and every cinema wants to run this movie. It's the most eagerly awaited film and I don't think anything will affect the collections. It's one of widest release in the category of Hindi dubbed movies. Thanks to the ticket prices which have been hiked so much. Even in Mumbai, the morning shows are for around INR 250 crore. The shows are almost full in Mumbai. The advance booking is phenomenal.
Sreedhar Pillai
Opening would be the highest in the history of Indian cinema. It has potential to do more than INR 100 crore worldwide. The film is releasing in four languages and put together it has a wide theatrical reach. It has around 8000 to 9000 screens. It'll be huge. Down south, advance booking in phenomenal and it's slowly getting booked for the entire weekend as it has a four-day long weekend. The first part crossed INR 650 crore than second part would do 20 % or 30% more than Baahubali - The Beginning.
Amod Mehra
It will take a bumper opening like that of a Salman film. The opening will be gigantic and the expectations are huge. The buzz of advance booking is also pretty strong. All indications show that it's going about INR 20 crore in Hindi dubbed category. It'll be highest in the history of Hindi dubbed movies and comfortably would do around INR 80 crore in the entire weekend.
