Today has been a day full of joy for all B-Town celebs who won national awards. Well, the Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor's Neerja has won the Best Hindi Film award and even she received a special mention for her performance in the film. We got in touch with director Ram Madhvani and he seemed pretty happy about Neerja getting an award at 64th National Film Awards 2017.

Talking to us, he said, "I am very happy for the Bhanot family as there is altogether an emotional wave connected to the story. The amazing thing is that Sonam is right now in Maheshwar shooting and today when she got the news, she was at the same ghat where we shot the climax of Neerja. It means Neerja will be immortal or else how would it be possible that on the day of National Awards, she was at the same place."

We also called Sonam's brother Harshvardhan Kapoor and he exclusively told us, "It's amazing and unbelievable. And dad (Anil Kapoor) has two National Awards in his thirty-year-long plus career and some incredible efforts has gone into making Neerja. It's incredible to be so young and win a National award. I am the only actor left in the family to win it (laughs)."

He added, "It's an achievement and it stays with you for your life. I think it's truly deserved and we are proud of her. It's a great prestige for our family. For dad and Sonam, it's a happy day. I think we kind of knew that this is a good chance for her to win it. She carried the film on her shoulders and she made us believe that she is Neerja."
