In an exclusive conversation with us, Sonam Kapoor's Harshvardhan opened up on her winning a Special Mention for Neerja.
Directed by Ram Madhavani, Sonam Kapoor's Neerja revolves around the Neerja Bhanot, a flight attendant on board the Pan Am Flight 73 from Mumbai to New York, who was shot dead by terrorists during the hijacking while trying to save the lives of 359 passengers.
Today, the list of winners of 64th National Film Awards has been announced and there is a good news for all the Sonam fans. Well, Sonam got Special Mention for her efforts that she had put in for Neerja as she single-handedly carried the film.
We called Harshvardhan Kapoor and he exclusively told us,"It's amazing and unbelievable. And dad (Anil Kapoor) has two National Awards in his thirty-year-long plus career and some incredible efforts has gone into making Neerja. It's incredible to be so young and win a National award. I am the only actor left in the family to win it (laughs)."
He added, "It's an achievement and it stays with you for your life. I think it's truly deserved and we are proud of her. It's a great prestige for our family. For dad and Sonam, it's a happy day. I think we kind of knew that this is a good chance for her to win it. She carried the film on her shoulders and she made us believe that she is Neerja."
