Zarine Khan Walks the Ramp for Archana Kochar

Ahmedabad, February 2010- It was an unconventional bridal collection in all its glittering glory that we saw in ‘Manchester of the East’ recently. Archana Kochhar’s name has always been synonymous with sexy styling; everything was high volume from her bold colour scheme to the use of bright gold embellishments. Archana was making no apologies for the fact that she loves glamour.

There was an explosion of rustic Indian wedding feel in its purest ethnic form as Archana unveiled her bridal extravaganza called Jadao, a celebration of saturated Indian colours like glittering silver and golden with a tinge of baby pink and parrot green. The mélange of textural fabrics like crushed georgette, silks, brocade, luxe velvets were magically transformed into elaborate kali saris, classic lehengas, sensual choli's, fluid duppata's perfect for the royal princess of regal Indiana. Fine detailing of fabric textures, trinkets, pompom gota borders highlighted this line for modern cerebral neo-bride. Each creation was crafted to perfection with imaginative construction and embellishments that dazzled the audience. There was obviously a lot of thought given to the intricate beadwork, zari and zardozi motifs that were splashed all over the saris, lehengas, dupattas, blouses and floor length net covers. The dazzling intricate golden jewellery, encrusted with semiprecious jades, glistening rubies and sinful emeralds in bubbles of raw clear spirit of diamonds, evoked this royal trousseau.

Speaking on the occasion, Bollywood Actress Zarine Khan stated, “Archana stands for the true essence that, luxury lies in celebrating the Indian wedding. Glamour appeared on the ramp in large doses for the bride as the constructed saris, classic churidar kurtas, opulent lehengas and the multi panelled swirling angarkhas were in rich bridal shades with the most lavish embroidery that any bridal couple can dream of.
