'Will I stay with my wife or ma-in-law?'
A new house for Karisma and Sunjay Kapur in Mumbai has come with its own set of problems.
Karisma, who used to stay with her mother Babita and sister Kareena in Babita’s flat at Bandra, shifted sometime ago to her own pad nearby. Now, Sunjay and Karisma are in the process of buying another property in Bandra which will be their permanent residence.
According to news reports, it was Sunjay who asked Karisma to move out of her mother’s residence as he couldn’t get along with her, and didn’t want to visit his family at Babita’s place. So much so, he allegedly doesn’t even speak with Babita. Yet, he wanted to have some time alone both with Karisma and his daughter Samaira and asked Lolo to set up house separately in Mumbai.
Buzz further suggested that as soon as Karisma moved out of Babita’s house, the relations between the couple were absolutely fine. Sunjay started visiting Karisma once a fortnight and they were quite a happy family.
While Karisma has refused to talk about the rumours, Sunjay is more forthcoming, “This is utterly baseless! After marriage, am I supposed to stay with my wife or my mother-in-law?” While accepting that they have bought a new flat in Mumbai and will be staying there, he rubbishes rumours that there is any acrimony between him and his mother-in-law Babita.
Their friends, meanwhile, say that Babita’s residence was getting somewhat cramped for Sunjay and Karisma. “Kareena also stays there and the space was not big enough for the whole family, along with a little child. So, they decided to shift out,” they say, asserting there’s nothing more to the shifting.
