Sridevi wins India Today Woman Award
Sridevi was felicitated by the India Today group with the India Today 'Woman in Arts' Award 2013 for her epic comeback with the global hit English Vinglish. The award was presented to the actress by Shashi Tharoor and founder-editor of India Today Aroon Purie.
Sridevi was in the capital on Friday to participate in the prestigious India Today Woman Summit 2013 where 8 women achievers in various fields were felicitated. The Bollywood icon also interacted with an elite gathering from all walks of life for a one hour session titled 'Conversation with a Superstar.' She charmed the audience speaking about her illustrious cinematic journey so far, her historic comeback with English Vinglish in 2012 and the road ahead for actresses in Indian Cinema. Sridevi also expressed deep concern over the lack of safety for women in society and urged the Government to take adequate measures.
This is the third award for Sridevi this month after the Padma Shri honour and NDTV Indian of the Year award for Entertainment. Recently the legend was also voted 'India's Greatest Actress Ever' by a CNN-IBN national poll.
