Shilpa & Anurag: Oscar fever?
The Metro team has reason to celebrate. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Oscars, has requested the filmmakers of Metro for a copy of their screenplay, which will be filed in their renowned permanent library of scripts. In the past films like Swades, Lage Raho Munnabhai', Parineeta, Ek Ajanbee, and much recently the Big B starrer, Eklavya enjoyed the honor of making it to the Oscar library of fame. Director Anurag Basu is obviously over the moon, but the man’s not spending too much time basking in glory, instead he’s already looking for his next script. He’s got a dime a dozen offers to direct films, “My problem is that I need to script my own story. That takes longer than understanding someone else’s script and directing it,” explains the director. Well, take your time Anurag, you never know, the next film could having you walking down the red carpet at the Oscars. With Shilpa Shetty in tow, of course!
