Shahid, Imran, Dia and other celebs at People magazine bash
Every year, PEOPLE honours style icons with the Best Dressed edition, featuring on its cover stars from fashion diva Sonam Kapoor to the uber chic Twinkle Khanna.
This year, standing tall in the coveted list is the ultra-glam Priyanka Chopra.
This former Miss World, who in the past few years has made a mark with her impeccable sense of style, tells PEOPLE of her amazing journey from gauche to gorgeous. “I wear confidence,” she revealed, when asked about the one style accessory she has at all times.
About being chosen as the face of the PEOPLE special issue of India’s Best Dressed for 2011, Priyanka said, “I’m excited because I never thought I would get this title.”
On Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, the diva celebrated the issue by walking the ramp for Manish Malhotra in a scene-stealing electric blue velvet lehenga with ornate embroidery. As the chief architect of the special evening, Manish said, “I’m delighted to be associated with the PEOPLE Best Dressed show. It marks the coming together of the entertainment industry's most stylish people on one platform. My collection for the evening is my signature style of opulent glamorous Indian wear”
Joining PEOPLE magazine in its celebration and walking the golden carpet in their best were Karan Johar, Imran Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Cyrus Sahukar, Urmila Matondkar, Sophie Choudhury, Jackie Bhagnani, Gul Panag, Natasha Poonawalla, Sameera Reddy, Mandira Bedi, Anushka Manchanda, Sandeepa Dhar, Shveta Salve, Daboo Ratnani & Poorna Jagannathan amongst others.
