Karisma ka charisma-Maa, maasi and me
Karisma Kapur and her daughter Samaira were frequent visitors on the sets of Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met, starring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur. The film’s 35-day Manali schedule had big sister drop in on several occasions to catch up with Kareena, who spent all her free time playing with young Samaira (we must say she’s a spitting image of her father, Sanjay Kapur!).
Says director Imtiaz Ali, “I met Karisma for the first time in Manali. My first impression of her was that she’s still so stunning! She spread so much warmth on the sets that all of us were comfortable having her around.”
Positive vibes
It is learnt that the first time Karisma arrived on the sets, she said a small prayer near the camera unit and proceeded to touch choreographer Saroj Khan’s feet. “We were filming a song sequence and everyone was touched by her gesture. She even had a look at what Kareena had shot for on the monitor and was happy with what she saw,” says Ali.
Produced by Ashtavinayak, Jab We Met is slated to release on October 19. The unit believes Karisma is the film’s lucky charm as everything proceeded smoothly when she was around.
