Ibrahim Khan (Saif Ali Khan's son) wins a gold in Judo at International School Sports League, An initiative by MCA RC
The spirit of sportsmanship took a whole new meaning at the grand finale of one of the city’s most awaited outdoor sports events the Nirmal Lifestyle International School Sports League, an initiative by MCA Recreational Centre and Mash Sports & Entertainment.
As the outdoor sports tournament concluded with a basketball match on 23rd January, 2011, the event moved towards its last leg, a segment dedicated to the appreciating the hard-work and team-spirit of both winners and participants alike. The awards categories were divided into four segments namely individual, team, best players and best school. Ibrahim Khan won a gold in judo in Under age 10 category.
About International School Sports League (ISSL):-
With close to 22 IB schools and 54 IGSCE schools, Mumbai is the International capital of India. International School Sports League (ISSL) is a unique sporting platform created specially for IB schools and IGSCE schools. The league aims to create a rich environment that provides students access to sporting and recreational activities in keeping with International standard as well as the guidelines set by eminent sporting bodies in Maharashtra.
ISSL includes both indoor and outdoor sports for boys and girls. Indoor sports featured on the roster are badminton, table tennis, judo, squash and chess; and the outdoor sports include cricket, football, basketball and tennis.
The goal is to provide a springboard for young athletes and the competitive environment that is safe, challenging, professional and educational where each athlete is given an opportunity to demonstrate his or her best abilities while learning to value the spirit of respect and co-operation.
