The biggest B'wood bashes of 2007
Here are the seven of the biggest bashes of 2007... not necessarily in this order.
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai's shaadi was clearly the biggest bash of this year. The celebrations spanned over three days from 18th to 20th April at the various Bachchan bungalows in the Mumbai suburb of Juhu and Aishwarya's building in Bandra. It was one big media event that fanned the egos of some within the industry and hurt many others who weren't invited.
The fashion extravaganza that attracts some of the biggest names in showbiz showcased its Spring-Summer avatar this October. Besides the action on the ramp Lakme Fashion Week made news for one good reason - Saif and Kareena's first public appearance together after the actress broke off with Shahid.
Sanjay Dutt along with his family released a book on his parents Sunil and Nargis Dutt. The whole of Bollywood turned up in the memory of Dutt Sr. This was also one of those very few events that saw Amitabh and Shah Rukh under one roof. Sadly though they never came face to face.
Om Shanti Om may have been a far far bigger hit than its rival Saawariya. But the premiere of Bhansali's film won hands down when it came to the red carpet. The premiere of Saawariya saw some of the glittering stars coming down to cheer the young Ranbir and Sonam. And dressed in outfits that looked straight out of a costume drama. And if you're still wondering why this one made it to the top seven, take a look at this.
Like Saawariya, Apne may not have been any great shakes at the box office. But the music launch of the film was one bash worth attending. You knew exactly what the three Deols were capable of if you were here.
Dev Anand's book release function in Mumbai saw one guest who turns up for only a select few bashes in town. So when Rekha turned up for the sake of her old colleague Dev Saab , many raised their eyebrows. But there was yet another angle to the story. How many times have you seen Rekha and Amitabh at the same event? To be precise, as far as we remember, the last one was the premiere of Sarkar.
When the cops calls you for their annual bash, you better not turn them down. So like every year this year too the entire Bollywood showed up at the annual Mumbai Police show. Again one of those very few events which saw the Big B and Shah Rukh together and came with its share of controversies when the Bachchans apparently left soon after Shah Rukh came with his OSO gang.
